Craft Corner is located in Dalton Street, next door to the former Auslec building which was completely destroyed by fire almost two weeks ago.
When members were finally allowed into their premises after the blaze, they were surprised to learn the flames and smoke had not entered their shop area.
All the stock was in fine shape.
However, the building was structurally affected by the big fire and they had to vacate.
Members came and took out their own stock last week, and then returned to remove the fittings and shelving which have now been stored at one of the members homes.
“Everyone has worked really hard to clear everything out. We are now keen to re-open as quickly as we can,” long time member, Margaret Tanner said.
“We never lost anything through the fire, there was not even any smoke damage.
“But we have nowhere to set up again, so are desperately seeking a new location. Council is assisting us, but if anyone can help out, we would certainly appreciate it,” Margaret said.
“We have the stock, and will probably have a re-opening night, but when and where is the question.”
