$1,246 in fines for motorist
A 51 year-old Parkes man has incurred fines totalling $1,246 following driving offences in Parkes last Sunday afternoon.
Police were patrolling Hartigan Avenue at 3.25pm when they observed a Toyota Landcruiser travel through the intersection from London Road.
The vehicle was then seen to travel over the kerb and across the footpath into Blaxland Street.
As a result he was stopped and subjected to a breath test which he failed.
He was arrested and transported to the Parkes Police Station where he subsequently passed a breath analysis test. This resulted in no further action being taken in this regard.
However, further investigations revealed the man’s vehicle to be unregistered.
This resulted in him being issued with two Infringement Notices for using an unregistered vehicle and for using an uninsured vehicle – each carrying fines of $623.
