He joins the illustrious company of Chris Martin, Alan Gersbach and Anthony McGrath.
Tony has been part of the lifeblood of touch football in Parkes over many years.
He has been a representative coach for more than 10 years and continues in this role now.
He has had a hefty and active involvement in junior State Cup and is now showing a similar dedication to Parkes’ representation at senior State Cup.
This involvement goes beyond coaching to the administration and coordination of these trips.
Tony is the Chairperson of the Board, a role he relishes.
He has been, and still is, active as a player and referee.
After being installed as a Life Member, Tony was lost for words, but only for a moment.
“I am stunned,” Tony said.
“I did not see this coming.
“I really appreciate the wonderful people who make up our club and who make all of our jobs a pleasure,” he said.
Tony also thanked his family and made special mention of John (Bear) Creith, his long time team manager.
“I could not have done it without Bear,” Tony said.
Tony is now looking forward to the upcoming touch season, with the mixed senior competition tapping off on Wednesday, September 3.
The mens and womens competition start on Thursday, September 4.
Now is the time to get a team organised, as team nominations will be required before those dates.
The junior competition will commence on September 10.
The Association is also calling for expressions of interest for coaches for the senior State Cup in December and for the junior State Cup in February.
Both tournaments will be played in Port Macquarie.
While NSW Touch have requirements for coaching accreditation, Parkes Touch encourages enquiries from anyone who is interested as coaching courses are being conducted regularly. Nominations close on August 8.
