Over the past few months a huge percentage of the winners at Parkes and Dubbo have been horses that are trained at Bathurst so it will be pleasing to see a better proportion of the prizemoney staying local.

The leading Gaffney/Sullivan stable from Forbes has no less than eight runners in the meeting which should see them take a share of the spoils.

Jason Gaffney has three runners in the opening race at 5.10pm, the Parkes Leagues Club Pace (1660m).

In form filly, Seville Lady will have to overcome a tricky barrier seven draw but with Murray Sullivan likely to take the reins, he has the ability to turn adversity into success.

She was most impressive in leading throughout here four starts back and since then she hasn’t had a great deal of luck, having tough runs.

Her danger is the Peter Bullock trained Kapow Shannon (Michael Munro) which returned to his best form when winning at Parkes on July 13.

Gaffney also has Bella Cruise in the race and she led throughout to score impressively at Leeton after running a strong second at Parkes.

Sullivan and Gaffney will be looking for an early race to race double when they combine again with Three Point Turn in the Mitavite Parkes To Cowra Heat One (2040m) which is for R1/R2 pacers.

The gelding is much improved and scored a runaway win here on July 13.

He then came out at Young and finished a close second behind Lets Go Diego in a fast 1.59.7.

Blacks A Buzzin (Nathan Carroll) struck interference last time out and was retired from the race at Dubbo but before that he had strong form that included a win at the same track.

He is the main threat to Three Point Turn while the Tommy and Andrew Ward trained Bellas Charm is definitely on the improve and was an eye-catching third at Dubbo last Sunday.

Claire Elizabeth (Steve Dowton) is one of the most consistent mares in training and while she doesn’t win very often she gets her chance to bounce back into the winner’s circle in the Final of the Mitavite Pace (2040m).

She last won at Canberra more than 12 months ago but usually collects a cheque for her owners, the well known McIntyre family from Parkes.

Always Over (Braden Sullivan) resumed at Young with a solid second placing and has run fifth at his next two outings so he is likely to show improvement with those runs under his belt and will give the final a real shake.

He is a danger to Claire Elizabeth along with Trump Em Tyce (Murray Sullivan) who was only beaten by a head behind Saint Dal Santo here in the Prelude.

The Jimmy Clyburn stable is firing at the moment and he gives a lot of the credit to his stable foreman, Ian Logan who puts in plenty of hours with the team.

Peggyville (Steve Dowton) has struck a rich vein of form during the past month which has seen him win two races at Young and more recently run a good second at Parkes.

He will contest the Parkes Awards Night Pace (1660m) and will be motoring home from his second line draw.

Zenitra Shannon (Michael Munro) beat Peggyville in their last meeting and it was a clever drive by Munro that outfoxed Dowton.

So tactics will play a big part in the outcome yet again as they meet on similar terms.

The Jason Gaffney trained pair of Promises Galore and Pashana both have very good recent form and they will be the testing material for the favoured runners.

Clyburn and Dowton could have a big night as they follow up in the Terry Bros Carpet Court Pace (1660m) with Snags Hall.

The lightly raced three year old should have nearly won at Young two starts back when he trod on a shoe and galloped but recovered to finish second behind Hi Approval.

He then ran fourth at Dubbo, only beaten seven metres in a stronger race than this.

Charlie And Joe (Matthew Harris) has ran second at Young at two of his past four runs and from barrier two he has a big chance of breaking his maiden status.

Of the others, Heza Joker (Peter McRae) has some claims based on two fourth placings in the past fortnight.

Eagles Ace (David Kennedy) is likely to stifle the betting in the Commercial Hotel sponsored Heat Two Parkes To Cowra R1/R2 Series (2040m).

He ran third at Leeton last weekend after changing stables.

Before that he had won four of his previous six starts and is a smart three year old.

Do It Yourself (Shane Hallcroft) was a strong winner over Montana Maestro at Leeton and he looks to be the only real danger to Eagles Ace.

Gunnegaldra (Madison Reynolds) ran third at Dubbo last Sunday and is a place chance.
