NSW went through the competition undefeated and thoroughly deserved their win.
Jack had a strong tournament, scoring seven goals and creating a lot of opportunities up front.
After very strong performances in the round matches, Jack missed the semi-final with a groin injury.
After plenty of physiotherapy, pain relief and strapping, he played a strong game in the 7-2 final win over Victoria.
NSW led 2-1 at the break after scoring two field goals.
They followed the first half effort up with an astonishing two further field goals and three penalty corners.
While not getting his name on the score sheet, Jack had two assists in the final.
His standout performance for the championships was NSW’s 4-1 win over QLD in the round games where he did score.
Living in Parkes, Jack’s access to trainings in the lead up to the championships was limited, doing a lot of his training individually at Stephen Davies Field.
He made two trips to Sydney to train with the squad.
After his fine performances, Jack was added to the NSW Waratahs open mens squad to compete in the Australian Championships in November.
The squad will be finalised on August 7.
Jack is very grateful for the support he received in getting to the championships.
“Without the support I had, especially from Parkes GP, it would have made things a lot more difficult,” Jack said.
“As always, my family and Parkes Hockey Inc have been fantastic.”
