Maureen Massey was selected to represent Australia again after a string of fine performances for the Over 60s NSW team.
She will be part of the 2015 Australian team who will compete in the Trans Tasman Challenge in Melbourne next May.
Maureen was part of the world champion Australian Over 60s team which won gold at The Netherlands recently.
Unfortunately, goal-keeper Maureen’s Over 60s team narrowly lost their final to Western Australia in a penalty shoot-out after the full-time score was level at nil-all.
Lee Hodge and Marcia Scally were integral members of the Over 35s NSW team which won a gold medal after defeating Queensland 4-0 in the final.
Lee, an outside half, and Marcia, a striker, enjoyed an excellent tournament.
Mandy Westcott, Donna Payne and Cheryl Wakefield played in the Over 45s team who also won gold after defeating Queensland 2-0 in the final.
Mandy and Cheryl play as outside defenders while Donna is a striker.
Donna scored one goal in the tournament.
Denise Gersbach and Jane Grosvenor were members of the Over 40s team which won silver after narrowly losing to Victoria 2-1 in the final.
Jane played an outside half while Denise played a striker.
Denise scored four goals throughout the tournament.
Tracey Harrison was also at the championships playing for Northern Territory in the Over 35 division.
At the conclusion of the championships, NSW was named the champion state.
The ladies’ performances are a wonderful achievement and a glowing endorsement for Parkes hockey after having so many players excelling at this high level.
