The film which recently went beyond its fundraising target to secure a $100,000 budget is hoping to spend around three days shooting in ‘Ben Hall country’.
Holmes said they hope to capture the district landscape and are looking for locations that have unobstructed views of bushland.
“We are looking for people who own large properties and a very large clearing with 360 degrees of bushland, with no crops or fences or any buildings,” he said.
“We’re especially interested in people who have horses and would be willing to let us put our actors on them and trot them around the property.”
Holmes said he would also like to shoot a scene in the Ben Hall Cave on Weddin Mountain as well as the final scene of Ben Hall’s death, but this would depend on the locations presented to the crew.
“We would love to film the shooting [scene] of Ben Hall in Forbes but it all depends on what gets opened up to us,” he said.
The film is now 50 minutes long and Holmes said the shots of the Lachlan area would equate to between 5-10 minutes of footage for the film.
Filming in Forbes will take place in late August to early September.
