Clive Palmer has called a veteran journalist a “dickhead” in response to a television report where a Palmer United Party-aligned senator gave a less-than-polished performance.

Reporter Mike Willesee was the target of Mr Palmer’s comments which he made on Radio 6PR on Monday morning.
As part of a wider story on Mr Palmer, Channel 7's Sunday Night aired an interview which saw incoming Motoring Enthusiasts Party senator Ricky Muir struggle to answer questions.
Mr Muir who will start his six-year Senate term in July, will hold a key vote as part of a bloc with the three Palmer United Party senators.
Talking to Radio 6PR, Mr Palmer described Mr Muir and other senators supporting PUP as “ordinary Australians”.
“Ricky Muir works every day in a saw mill, he’s got five kids to support, he’s there because people think he’s more in contact with the real world, now these professional politicians want to make fun of people and deride other people, it’s just something that’s very poor,” he said.
“Mike Willesee, who does he think he is really, he’s got a plum stuck up his arse.”
Mr Palmer said while Mr Willesee had recorded an hour long "serious interview" about “political things” none of the serious conversation made the cut.
Despite this he said he was not ashamed of anything that was shown on the program.
“The court of public opinion’s the best place and if you go to the [Channel] Seven blogs you’ll see three and a half, four thousand Australians went on the blog last night to say that Mike Willesee’s a dickhead,” Mr Palmer said.
