And, as has been the custom for some years now, it will be presented by musicians from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
This year, David Miller, Director of these highly successful and entertaining annual tours, is bringing an ensemble of brass players.
Concert-goers will hear from two Trumpets, a French Horn, a trombone and Tuba - as soloists and in various ensembles.
The concert will again be performed in the Starlight Lounge upstairs in the Parkes Services Club.
The acoustics of this auditorium are absolutely ideal for a brass ensemble of this size and anyone attending this concert will certainly enjoy a new and exciting experience.
There have already been two requests for the famous and celebrated Haydn Trumpet Concerto and this delightful work will certainly be on the program.
Before continuing their tour of western NSW, the brass ensemble will visit the Middleton, Parkes, Parkes East and Parkes High schools for short school concerts and workshops.
The 2014 Grand Western Tour will then travel to Molong,Young, Orange, Canowindra and finally, they will give a workshop on Sunday morning (May 11th) and concert in the afternoon at the Mitchell Regional Conservatorium of Music before returning to Sydney.
If you have never gone along to a concert of classical music then this brass quintet is a great introduction to a wonderful new experience in both sight and sound.
Ticket prices are just $25 for adults, $20 for pensioners and remember, school-aged students are free.
This is the chance for these highly talented young musicians to introduce you to a new musical experience.
As regular concert-goers are aware, except at the Little Theatre, there are no box offices at local entertainment venues, so patrons are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets.
This can be done simply by telephoning 6862 6667 and, if time permits, your tickets will be posted to you otherwise they will be waiting for you at the door.
So, for an entertaining evening be at the Services Club by 7.30pm on Tuesday, May 6.
