A month into autumn and the weather is mild and the course is in top condition.
Last Wednesday’s Flag Competition was good fun, the winner, who took the flags down the 1st fairway was Jenny Hoy.
Jenny won the very glamorous trophy provided by Adrianne Brown.
Adrianne also provided the putting trophy which was won by Leonie Thompson with 27 putts.
Ball winners were Glynis Conroy, 71 nett and Leonie Thompson, 73 nett.
Frankie Cock won the Lone Pine Contracting award.
Nearest the pins were, Lynne Guise on the 1st and 11th, Dawn Wakefield on the 4th, Jenny Hoy on the 6th and Kay Jones on the 15th.
Last Saturday’s par event, sponsored by the Club, was won by Andriena Durning (welcome back) with a magnificent score of plus 10.
Runner up was Lynne Guise on plus 3, followed by Anne Berkeley on plus 1.
Adrianne Brown won the Ann Goodie award on a countback to Liz Matthews.
On the par 3 holes, Lynne Guise nearly had a hole in one on the 1st... she missed it by THAT much!
Judith Phillips was nearest on the 4th, Liz Matthews on the 6th, Lynne Guise (again) on the 11th and Dale Matthews on the 15th.
Today’s event is a stableford sponsored by Lesley Fisher.
On Friday the club is sponsoring a stableford medley event for Anzac Day.
Saturday’s stroke event is sponsored by Cathy Kelly (a program change) and next Wednesday’s event is a Club sponsored stableford.
The first event for May is the 2nd Golf NSW Medal and Club Medal sponsored by Glynis Conroy, stroke and putting in conjunction.
Forbes Open Tournament is on Sunday the 4th.
On Wednesday (7th) we have the second Wednesday round, sponsored by Thrifty Car Rentals.
Leonie Stevenson is donating the trophy for the second Ethel Kenyon stableford round on the 10th, which is also the first qualifying round for the Handiskins, see posters around the Clubhouse for details.
Tuesday (13th) to Thursday (15th) May is the Western Districts Tournament at Forbes.
For those not attending there will be a club sponsored stableford on Wednesday (14th) at the usual times.
Please note we are about to switch to the winter tee off times of 12.30pm on Wednesday afternoons, so please be there by 12.15pm if you wish to play.
Saturday the 17th is a mixed 4BBB stableford for Trish and Ray Wyatt’s trophy and the qualifying round for the 2014 Keno NSW mixed Four ball Handicap tournament.
Wednesday the 21st is a 4B Aggregate Stableford event, arrange your own partner, with the Great Western Social Bowl in conjunction.
Kaye Jones is the sponsor.
Saturday 24th is Parkes Cellars day, a 4B Aggregate Stableford with individual in conjunction and the 2nd Handiskins qualifying round.
Entries close for the Mixed Foursomes Sunday, June 1.
Please can competitors enter their scores on the computer when possible and mark their card with a C to show it has been entered.
This makes final bookwork so much easier.
