The launch coincides with the early works construction at Forbes Hospital, which is a significant and exciting milestone for the project.
The NSW Government has committed $113.4 million to fund the LHS project which includes the refurbishment of Forbes Hospital ($40.9m) and the redevelopment of Parkes Hospital on a new site ($72.5m).
The website was created to keep the Parkes and Forbes communities informed about the progress of the redeveloped Parkes and Forbes hospitals.
It also provides background information about both hospital projects and what the health services benefits will be once the project is completed.
“Work on the LHS project has really ramped up this year and it is important that we are able to regularly communicate what is happening with both hospitals,” Liz Mitchell said.
“The LHS project website will allow us to provide up-to-date information to staff and the community.”
Main works construction is scheduled to begin at Parkes and Forbes in 2014 and is scheduled for completion in late 2016.
