The Parade of Champions was a showstopper with the crowds. Now in its third year, it takes place on Excellence in Agriculture Day, and celebrates members of the Show family for their outstanding contributions to the Show over the years.
It was held Tuesday, before the Grand Parade.
For 25 years, Kathleen has had a long history with the cake decorating and sugar art classes at the Show.
In her maiden attempt, she became a Sydney Royal winner and has continued to win ribbons year in year out.
Kathleen is now a repeat winner of the Dorothy Evans Perpetual Trophy, which recognises excellence across the sugar art classes.
She says she’ll never forget the first time she won at the Show, and she hopes to reproduce that winning feeling again this year.
President of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), Glenn Dudley, said the champions are the heart and soul of the Show.
“Each year, our exhibitors, committee members and volunteers travel hundreds of kilometres and dedicate countless hours, helping to shape what has become an iconic, Australian event,” he said.
“The Parade honours the people behind the ribbons; those who’ve been integral in showcasing excellence in NSW and Australian agriculture over some of the Show’s 191 year history.
