Trotting enthusiasts will remember when Trundle once came alive during the winter months with the excellent chefs of Trundle, cooking up a storm to cater for the crowds.
They made slices, jelly cream cakes, lamingtons, scones and sandwiches.
Sadly, back in 1994 a very serious accident occurred and in 1995 it was decided after long deliberation and careful consideration the small club and committee would have to fold.
It was Mrs Linda Taylor, former Secretary of the Trundle HRC and current race day secretary of the Parkes Harness Racing Club, and her husband Bill who approached the Parkes Club back in 2012 to see what the committee thought of the idea of hosting a Trundle meeting at Parkes.
Bill is also the mobile starter in Parkes.
The idea took a year to get off the ground.
On February 9, 2013, the very first successful night of racing fully supported and sponsored by Trundle families and business was held in Parkes.
This Thursday, April 17, is shaping up to be another night of great racing for the Parkes HRC with all Sponsors from Trundle.
Trundle local band Under The Cover will be entertaining the adults while there will be plenty of things for the children to do.
There might even have a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny.
Thake the family along and have a great night out.
Enjoy a bet and a drink or two and see if everyone can bring the memories of Trundle alive once more.
There will be plenty of Trundle harness racing memorabilia on display so why not climb aboard the courtesy bus which Linda has organised to depart from the Trundle Services & Citizens Club.
If anyone wishes to catch the bus, please ring Linda on 0458 642 429 by 5pm tomorrow. The cut off time has been extended in the hopes of filling the bus.
