That was until her MRD (Minimal Residual Disease) tests came back positive and she had to endure a high risk block of treatment which involved large doses of strong chemotherapy.
Everything was to prepare her for her bone marrow transplant at Westmead Hospital.
At the end of January, Lilly had all the tests needed to get her ready for radiation and transplant.
On February 3 - 5 she had more chemo.
Lilly was admitted to hospital on February 6 for radiation treatment .
She had a general anaesthetic twice a day for four days so she could have her treatment.
More chemo followed, Sunday was a day of rest - and Monday, February 13 was Transplant Day.
The bone marrow transplant is actually fluid from an umbilical cord containing stem cells.
Umbilical cord stems cells are the most concentrated and strongest of the stem cells in the body.
Most people who have a bone marrow transplant have cells from one donor but because Lilly is such high risk of relapse, her doctors gave her two.
The 90 ml and 73ml transplants were given intravenously with one coming from an Australian donor and the other from an American.
A member of the bone marrow team personally flies to America to pick up the transplant and returns almost immediately.
Most countries have a donor registry with doctors searching a data base of 12 million to find two matches for Lilly.
More than 20 days post-transplant, Lilly is getting excellent results, and her doctors can not believe how well she is responding.
Most patients don’t start showing signs that the transplant is working for 21 days but in only 10 days ,Lilly showed very positive results.
So much so her doctors are considering giving her a four hour gate leave from hospital.
Two and a half year old Lilly continues to take all that is handed out to her in her stride and her doctors and nursing staff are constantly amazed at her fighting spirit.
Lilly will still not be coming home for quite a while, as she will need to attend the clinic four days a week after she leaves hospital.
She will undergo bone marrow tests once a month for the next two years.
