Local coordinator Mrs Michelle Bicket said registration will still be at Lions Park on Sunday week when various park areas will be allocated to groups.
“It would be great for local residents to come down and get involved,” Michelle said.
“Don’t forget to bring your gloves.”
A sausage sizzle for participants will take place from midday.
The Clean Up in Peak Hill will still be held this Saturday and Sunday 8am -5pm. Participants should meet at the ‘ Commercial Block’.
Contact is Toni Francis for any enquiries.
“Other pre-registered sites may also be carried out on Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday so check with the Site Co-coordinator or on-line,” Michelle said.
Michelle said Clean Up Australia Day is a fantastic, fun event where everyone in the local community can come together and pick up rubbish to conserve the environment.
“Just one piece of rubbish can make a difference and ensure your favourite local beaches and parks stay clean for the future,” she said.
Parkes Shire Council has organised the local registration site at Lions Parkes (Orange Road) on Sunday, March 11, to commence at 8am.
You can still register your own site on Clean up Australia Day if you wish or simply turn up at Lions Park with gloves, a hat, sturdy shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen and register as a volunteer.
Bags will be provided.
However, anyone needing bags to still do some clean up activities this Sunday (March 4) as part of the Cleanup Australia Day program should contact Michelle Bicket on 6861 2372.
“Simply register online or turn up at Lions Park on March 11 and register as a volunteer,” Michelle said.
