More than 50 people went along to share in a lovely morning tea at the Mini Field of Women event where they could write messages to display on the 100 pink silhouettes in the park.
Local organiser Dianne Green, Parkes’ very own McGrath Breast Cancer Nurse, said it was a huge success.
“The weather was beautiful and the park grounds are lovely.
“I really appreciate all the support from my family and the community, it wouldn’t have been the success it was without everyone’s help,” Di said.
The shocking statistics are 14,000 Australian women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and of those 2600 women will die from the disease.
“So many women fight this disease on a daily basis, and it is nice to see members of the community come together and share in their support for these women on this one special day.”
