Each year of the past decade the usually quiet village of Tullamore undergoes a transformation over the Easter long weekend when it comes to life with the music, laughter and passion of the Irish spirit.
The Tullamore Irish Festival comittee is very excited to announce that Damien Leith will be performing at next year’s Festival.
Damien is a singer/songwriter who rose to fame when he won Australian Idol in 2006.
An Irishman, he is really excited about coming to Tullamore.
“I'm so thrilled to be performing at the 11th Tullamore Irish Festival,” he said.
“Growing up in Ireland, music and dancing has always been such a big part of my life, so it's great to be part of a festival that celebrates all that and so much more.”
A genuinely family-friendly festival, there has already been plenty of preparation for next year’s event.
There will be plenty of children’s entertainment, including a giant slippery slide, tea cup rides, face painting and much much more.
The best thing is kids under 18 are free all day, every day of the Irish Festival.
Tickets for adults cost $30 and that will give you entry into the festival where you can enjoy live Irish music including Damien Letih’s performance.
“We're going to put on an amazing weekend for our 11th year", Robert Edwards (Irish Festival’s Entertainment Coordinator) said.
“From Friday night until Sunday afternoon, there will be so much to enjoy, from market stalls, loads of Irish dancing and singing, free entertainment for the kids and plenty of Irish food and Guinness.”
Held throughout the Easter weekend, the Irish Festival is a fun, family event that will have you feeling a little bit Irish all day long.
The Festival has built a strong reputation, with artists vying for a spot on the bill; and visitors of all ages returning year after year to experience its friendly hospitality and diverse program of music.
“For the 2014 festival we are aiming for 714 likes on Facebook this year,” Robert said.
“All fans who have liked the page will go in the draw to win a VIP family pass to the Festival which includes entry, t-shirts and merchandise to kit yourself out for the day, as well as an Irish lunch.
“The competition will be drawn in March so be sure, to be sure, to “like” us on Facebook.
