The aim of the day will be to showcase to the local community the first class tourism precinct that exists here in Parkes.
“The hope is that local residents, businesses and other tourism operators will advocate and refer the facility to visiting friends and relatives which in turn will increase visitation and boost the profile of the complex,” Katrina Dwyer (Acting Tourist Manager) said.
As part of the third birthday celebrations, all visitors will receive free entry to all of the HPC museums between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
A range of activities for all members of the family will take place throughout the day including a car display, children’s activities and the official cutting of the Henry Parkes Centre birthday cake.
In addition to the open day, the Tourism Unit will coordinate a familiarisation tour for local and regional tourism operators including accommodation providers and regional attractions to encourage referral of visitors to the complex.
So mark Saturday, December 7, in your diaries for a day out at the Henry Parkes Centre.
