Once again it was the club’s junior coordinator Robert Hey who won the individual competition after surviving a six-way countback to win.
In the major event, the 2 Ball Multiplier, the early morning pair of Troy Hopley and Wayne Tucker combined superbly to record a blistering 79 points to be five shots clear of the eventual runners-up, Peter Boschman and Michael Smith.
Hey, in his victory speech, congratulated Phil Barnard for his support of the club.
He congratulated the course superintendent Matthew Barnden for the way the greens were presented, especially after they had only been rejuvenated earlier in the week.
Ball winners were Peter Boschman and Michael Smith on 74 points, 73 Phil Barnard and Denis Howard, and Bernard McCabe and Tom Medcalf, 72 John Green and Alan Jewell, 71 Col Hutchings and Brian Hogan (Snr) and surviving the countback on 69 were Michael Mitchelson and Graham Cooke.
In the nearest the pins, Tom Medcalf took out the Idlerite - Tyrepower 1st hole at 107cm; Aaron Wilkie cleaned up on the Griffins Leading Edge 4th hole at 280cm; while Robert Hey got his customary award when he took out the Dirt Doctor Landscaping 6th hole at 920cm.
On the back nine holes, Steve Simpson snared the Harvey Norman 11th hole after his tee shot came to rest some 440cm from the hole.
On the difficult Westlime sponsored 15th hole, Troy Hopley was declared the winner at 306cm.
Glen Buesnell took home both the Parkes Ready Mixed Concrete 9th hole and the Parkes Heavy Mechanical Repairs 18th hole best in two shot awards at 200 and 107cm respectively.
