Held every two years in a different state, the 2013 Rally has attracted entries from throughout Australia.
Besides the popular brand of Harley Davidson, the more rare Thor, Yale, Indian and Henderson will be represented, along with the long forgotten Australian-made bike brands such as Maldon, Precision, Peerless and GCS.
From 12 midday, Sunday, September 29, the Parkes showground will be abuzz as entrants check-in and put their machines on display for each other and visitors to admire.
Adding to the atmosphere, riders and helpers will be wearing period costume with prizes up for grabs for the best outfits.
The bikes will also be on display at the Henry Parkes Centre from 3pm, Monday, September 30, after returning from their first ‘shake-down’ ride of the week-long event.
Starting from the Parkes showground each day 9:00am - 10:00am, the Rally will take riders around the Parkes Shire including the CSIRO Radio-Telescope (Monday), Trundle (Tuesday), Forbes (Wednesday), Canowindra via Eugowra (Thursday) including a mid-morning visit to St Joseph’s School, and Yeoval via Baldry (Friday).
The relatively flat country is ideal for the low-powered veteran motorcycles, many of which have no clutch or gears!
The Veteran's Rally is a city-country ‘team effort’ run jointly by the Parkes Antique Motor Club with their local knowledge, and the Vintage Motorcycle Club of Australia (NSW) handling entries and promotion.

As a bonus for visitors and locals, many of the veteran bikes will also stay on for the Parkes Antique Motor Club’s (PAMC) 37th annual rally for vintage and classic motorcycles made up until 1983.
The PAMC's rally will be held on the long weekend of October 5, 6 and 7, starting each day at 9am at the Parkes Visitor Information Centre on the Newell Highway.
