Following the counting Mr Cobb said he was 'delighted that Calare had given him the honour and responsibility of representing them again'.
“It has been a very long campaign since the former Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced there would be an election in September and I know everyone is just ready to get on with a more prosperous and predictable life.
“Like so many other electorates across Australia, Calare voters have made their decision in the best interest of not only their own situations but also for the nation.
“Australia so desperately needed a change in leadership and a return to stability and a responsible government that will get our nation back on track," Mr Cobb said.
With over 80 per cent of first preference votes counted Mr Cobb received 57.96 per cent of the votes, a total of 47,977 and a swing of 5.55 per cent.
“Your vote and support has been critical in helping our Coalition team to bring about the change in government that Australia so urgently needed.”
Mr Cobb said he would 'fight to ensure that Calare gets its fair share under the new Coalition Government'.
“Now the real work starts – in getting the Budget back under control, cutting our cost of living and cost of doing business and ensuring there is a prosperous future ahead for all."
In a two party preferred count The Nationals' received 66.16 per cent of the votes, while Labor received 33.84 per cent. There was a swing of 5.42 per cent to The Nationals.
