Parkes shooter Tony Drabsch has won an Australian action pistol title and established two new Australian records.
He has now been named in the number-one position for the 2010 Australian team to head off to the US in May for the Bianchi Cup – the Wimbledon of hand-gun shooting.
On the weekend of November 7 and 8, Tony travelled to Canberra to compete in the Australian action pistol titles at the national range at Majura.
Tony entered in both
metallic sight and open-class matches with the metallic
sight (open sight) being his pet event.
Tony finished in first place with a new Australian record, a new Australian team record with his NSW teammate Craig Ginger from Sydney and a second place in the iron-man event.
“I’m very pleased with the result in Canberra because I only went there to get a spot in the Australian team and to come away with two new Australian records was a very nice bonus,” Tony said.
