Parkes SSAA Smallbore
Last weekend saw 12 shooters attend the Deep Lead Shooting complex on the Back Trundle Road.
The gale-force north-westerly winds caused the whole shooting bays to move and start lifting the roof up and down with one waiting for it to blow off.
This made it almost impossible to read the wind which was continually changing directions and swirling around the stone dividing wall, shooting bays, tyre wall and mound.
Crow targets were used at both ranges with a collective total of 520 points.
Target rifles
Brian Drabsch – 270 (25 metres), 249 (50 metres), 519 (total).
Paul Hocking – 268, 238, 506.
Bernie Hetherington – 264, 232, 496.
Field rifles:
Ron Cunningham – 266 (25 metres), 249 (50 metres), 515 (total).
John Smeaton – 267, 243, 510.
Steve Westcott – 270, 220, 490.

Buttriss 251, Graham Pollock 251 (25

The three small willy-wag-tails
are now flying and feeding with the
adults.
The police have started an inspection of all firearms holders for security,
so please make sure your ammunition
is locked away separate from your firearms.
Security cabinets must be at least 150kg and if not are to be bolted to the floor or wall or both.
The next shoot is at 10am this Sunday, and will be the popular fox targets at both 25 and 50 metres.
After this shoot all attendances will be sent in to the state office of SSAA and from there, those who do not have their four shoots up for the year will be sent out reminders to catch up before March 31, 2010.
