A draft Group 11 draw for 2012 has been released which sees Parkes hitting the road to face Narromine in Round 1.
Group 11 premiers Dubbo CYMS and arch rivals Macquarie Raiders have been drawn in a blockbuster opening round of the competition.
The draft draw will be presented at the next Group 11 meeting to be held at Narromine on February 11 starting at 11am.
CYMS, this year to be under the coaching of Joe Williams, will host the game at No.1 Oval on April 29 while the grand final replay between CYMS and Parkes is set down for May 20 and again the game will be played at Parkes.
Group 11 secretary Bob Walsh said the foot print for the 2012 season has been set.
“The meeting at Narromine on the 11th will confirm both the pre-season and competition draws and by now officials from all clubs would have received a draft copy,” he said.
“The competition draw will see two home and away rounds starting on April 29 with the preliminary semi-finals on August 18 and 19 and the grand finals on September 9.
“In our draw there will also be two general byes - on June 10 for the Indigenous All Stars versus the Group 11 All Stars - and on July 15.”
The former pre-season trials will return to Group 11 this season with two rounds of matches on the weekends in April.
The first games (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday April 13-15) CYMS play Forbes in Dubbo; Nyngan v Cobar (at Nyngan); Parkes v Macquarie (at Parkes) and Wellington v Narromine (at Wellington).
On Saturday or Sunday April 21-22, Macquarie v Wellington (in Dubbo); Cobar v CYMS (Cobar); Narromine v Nyngan (Narromine) and Forbes v Parkes (Forbes).
Walsh has also confirmed that the Group 11 under 18s selection trials will be held at Narromine on Saturday, February 25, and that Wellington will host the Western Rams under 18s trials on Saturday, March 17.
