For Parkes Marist Junior Rugby League players, the start of the 2012 is fast approaching.
Club president John Wright is sure the season will again be an enjoyable one for players and parents alike.
“The club aims to be family orientated so that everyone can enjoy a day at the footy,” he said.
“During the past couple of seasons, the families and players have all enjoyed the sausage sizzle get togethers after the home games.
“This gives everyone the chance to meet parents, coaches and fellow players.”
Both boys and girls are encouraged to register (girls are able to play up to under 12s) in age groups from under 7s to 16s.
The final day for registrations will be tomorrow at the Cambridge Hotel from 1pm to 4pm.
The club wishes to have all players registered tomorrow so the number of Parkes teams entered in the competition can be finalised.
Junior rugby league continues to grow in Parkes and the executive committee works hard to ensure that the club runs smoothly.
All players intending to register will need their birth certificate, Medicare card, passport photo, and $55 fee.
Both the player and parent are required to be in attendance to fill in and sign all the necessary paper work.
All these requirements must be met to complete the registration process with Country Rugby League.
Training for some teams will begin on February 14, but unless you have registered at one of the rego days you won't be able to take part in training or games.
Everyone must be registered for insurance purposes.
In the past, Parkes Marist JRL has had many players involved in representative teams and with the talent on display, it looks like there will again be a number selected for rep duties this year.
So if you are interested in enjoying the game of rugby league, come down to the Cambridge Hotel tomorrow at 1pm to register.
