The Parkes Pumas Touch Association had a very successful carnival at Wellington on Sunday 31st January.
The Hornets Western Junior Championships involves teams from all over the west, including centers Katoomba, Mudgee, Forbes,Wellington, Dubbo and Orange.
The Pumas were represented in u/12, u/14, u/16 in both girls and boys age divisions. All teams reached the Finals after strong performances throughout the day. The u/ 12 Boys, u/ 12 Girls, u/16 Girls and u/16 Boys came away victorious, with the u/14 Boys and u/16 Girls going down in very close matches.
The Western Junior Championship Shield was shared by both Parkes and Orange for the first time in the history of the Championships. Congratulations to all Parkes teams on a great result, also sportsmanship and behavior on the day.
JUNIOR STATE CUP
The Junior State Cup to be held in Wollongong 19/20/21 February is fast approaching and players are reminded that payment of monies is to be handed to your team manager by Monday 8th and Thursday 11th February at the latest.
Parents that have booked accommodation through Al Gersbach for the Junior State Cup could they contact him again regarding final family numbers so rooms can be sorted for allocations please on 0429 624 486.
MIXED TOUCH
The Mixed Touch competition will commence on March 4, so now is the time to start organizing your teams.
Registrations will be received up until Thursday, February 25. A registration evening will be held at the Parkes Town Bowling Club from 6-8pm on February 25. Competition commences on Thursday, March 4.
A reminder that duty team referees will again be a requirement for this competition.
A referee’s course can be organized for anyone interested in gaining their level 1.
