Only eleven months until Christmas everybody.
Where did January go?
The game on 31 January was the stroke, monthly medal and putting competition.
Lyn Davison won the ladies with 67net and with that result she has come down from 23 to 16.
Margaret Hogan took out the scratch as she often does.
Dawn Phipps was the closest for nearest the pins on the 4th and 11th.
Dawn, you are at it again.
Always wanting your name mentioned.
As usual she also won the raffle and one of the balls.
I would like to share a lottery ticket with you.
Peter Picker told Phil Nicholson to move over as he had one of the best results seen lately.
He came in with 59 points and has tumbled from 20 to 7.
Now that’s a standard you will have to maintain, Pete, a bit like our friend, Darren Yeo who won with similar figures last week.
By the way, Darren what was your score this week?
Reg Davison also had a good day with 64 points and Bob Ramsay was third with 69 points.
As you can see, the missing golf clubs, our story last week, have turned up.
Good friend, Paul Massurit was responsible as suspected.
He had left them at his house and forgot to return them to Bob.
At least that’s his story.
I still think they might have gone on holidays for son Kyle to use.
Nearest the pins, Ross Smith on the 1st, Kevin Bennett, the 4th with a birdie and Paul Massurit the 11th.
Kevin was full of moans and groans as he says work is making him tired, which I can understand working with tanks and he blames that for hitting the ball out of bounds twice.
Skeet Archer almost followed him and that couldn’t be blamed on hard work.
Not our Skeet!
The bunny looked like being won by one of them as Ian Phipps was also in their group.
However Ian changed back to his old driver and had a better second nine.
He was also the scratch winner so his game can’t have been too bad.
Ross Smith was the lucky card draw winner and Barney Hutchings is down that hole, again.
What is the attraction, Barn?
Perhaps the bunnies who used to grace some risqué magazines such as Playboy, have moved down there.
They would be a lot more fun!
Reg Davison was the best putter for the day with a score of 27.
As mentioned before, Dawn Phipps was the raffle winner with Margaret Hogan, Peter Hogan and Rob Rea, winning the balls.
February 14 is a stableford.
Bob Ramsay picked up Paul Massurit to go out for the game and he had his revenge over the missing clubs as Paul forgot to get his golf shoes and Bob wouldn’t go back for them so he had to play in his crocs or whatever you call them.
Is that in the dress code for the club, Paul?
It was good to see our old friends, Pearl and Bob Fuller who came to the Leagues Club to catch up on our news.
A short meeting was held after the game, mainly to discuss the AGM and it will be held after the next monthly award day, 1pm at the Leagues Club.
Our good secretary, Ross Smith has plans well under way for out trip on the long weekend in June.
Some incentives which will be discussed at our next meeting are going to be offered to the players who have their deposits in early.
A Sunday golfer is a person who is more interested in a hole-in-one that The Holy One!
