Open Competition
Tomorrow night sees the opening rounds of the 2010 Open Netball Competition season at the McGlynn courts, Baker Street Parkes
With 17 teams registered for the competition, all 3 grades will be strong with new teams entering the competition and established teams bringing in new players. Starting the competition a little later this year should avoid those nasty hot evening we played through during the last few February’s but players are reminded to bring plenty of water with you for each match.
The Grade Divisions are:
A Grade : Mid West Home Loans (14 Reps), Parkes Cellars A, Lachlan Physio (17 Reps),
Dunfords, Halls Jewellers (15 Reps) and PCYC
B Grade: Dwyers Fresh/MCA, BAKM, Sydney Credit Union #1, Lotus Imports and CWA.
C Grade: Parkes Cellars C, Sheer Class, The Dock (13 Reps), Sydney Credit Union #2,
Railway Bowling Club and Trundle.
During the first 3 weeks teams will be assessed as to their playing ability and there may be some movement between the divisions to keep the competitive edge.
For this week only the players from Dwyers Fresh MCA have the bye and the team have volunteered to umpire the round so we can all play. As of round two teams will be expected to umpire in the allocated time slots so the competition can continue. A huge thank you to Jill, Amanda, Kylie, Jane, Calli and Monica of Dwyers Fresh MCA who are umpiring on their bye night, and to Kerry, Julie and Cathy who umpire independent of teams. Without umpires there will be no games.
Team registration forms should be returned to control, completed and with your $20 refundable team deposit. Teams will be issued with a Team Folder which will have all the individual registration forms required by Netball NSW and other information the teams need to be aware of for the competition.Teams have 3 weeks to finalise uniforms, registration forms and fees.
Registration fees - Adult player 18 years and over - $140. Full time student (TAFE/Uni) - $100. High School Student - $90. Non Playing Member - $50 (annual)
