The Parkes Golf Club’s Super Sixes competition is now at an interesting stage as four teams battle for the competition lead after the 10th round concluded last Friday.
Currently three sides - Players, All Settlers and Maguires - head the competition on 56 points just two points clear of fourth placed Friday Burglars.
Both All Settlers and Maguires had convincing victories during Round 10 while Players had to battle hard in their narrow victory over last placed All Sorts.
Maguires have been the quiet achievers this year as they have been consistent in their play. But this week, they come up against co-leaders Players in what appears the match of the round.
Over the next three weeks, they face the daunting task of facing three of the top five teams.
In results from Round 10, victories were recorded by Cellar Crowes, Friday Burglars, Dunny Divers, SCT Bandits, Maguires, All Settlers, Players and Cellar Pee Wees.
Voucher winners from the round were:
Ben McNaughton with 33.5 nett for the handicap golfers, and Damian Todd with a 30 nett for the non-handicapped players.
Ball winners were: 32 Josh Fisher; 33 Denise Swindle; 34 Paul Lewin; 34.5 Robert Cheney; 35 Robert Rea, Artie Smith, Laurie Wakefield, Mick Smith; 35.5 Warren Rauchle, Matt Lawryk; 36 David Hansen, Col Baker, Rory Sheridan, Dave Stevenson and Mark Kelly.
The draw for Round 11 which will be played on the back nine holes is as follows:
