Northparkes records big win

Northparkes romped to a massive 154-run win over Grand when the two teams clashed at Harrison Park last Saturday as part of the B Grade Coolabah Cup.

Northparkes won the toss and elected to bat, amassing 8-195. Stand-out batters were Todd Skinner (79 not out), Blair Scott (37), Andrew Wright (15), Will Harry (14) and Josh Wild (13).

The best bowlers for Grand were Andrew Francis (4-26 from 10 overs, including two maidens), Brad Parker (2-24 from four overs), and Brent Tucker (2-34 from 10 overs, including one maiden).

In reply, Grand only managed to muster 8-41, due to the fact that the last two batters in the order couldn’t bat.

Top-scorer was Douglas Keith (19), and everyone else scored in the single figures.

Northparkes only used two bowlers against Grand and both were very effective. Brent Jenkins picked up 4-11 off 5.1 overs, including two maidens, and Josh Wild bagged 3-30 off five overs, including one maiden.

In the other B Grade game, Bowling Club had a 51-run win over Cambridge B.

Bowling Club won the toss and batted, managing to notch up 10-118.

Top-scorers were middle-order batters Brett Hutchings (35) and Matt Swindle (30), along with Luke Swindle (14) and Steven Bateson (11).

Best bowlers for Cambridge B were Adam Gillette (5-21 off 7.2 overs), Matt Clark (3-15 off five overs), Daniel Ward (1-8 off two overs) and Josh Adams (1-15 off three overs).

In reply, Cambridge B was bowled out for 67. Top-scorers were Josh Adams (17) and Adam Gillette (11). Everyone else scored in the single figures.

Bowling Club bowlers picked up plenty of scalps, with Brett Hutching bagging 3-12 off four overs, Shaun Bateson 3-14 off four overs, Neil Ward 2-17 off four overs and Dave Cooper 1-12 off two overs.

In the A Grade Kelly Cup, Reedy Creek took down Coachman by seven wickets after Coachman won the toss and batted.

Coachman managed to reach 112, thanks to Rod Kiley (37), Matt Cusack (21), Nick Ryan (18) and Max Keith (17).

Best bowlers for Reedy Creek were Paul Carty (3-5 off seven overs), Nathan Munday (1-11 off seven overs), Brenton Nightingale (2-17 off three overs), Scott Knights (1-28 off 10 overs) and Jack Murray (1-29 off six overs).

In reply, Reedy Creek managed to easily chase down the target, managing to reach 115 with the loss of only three wickets.

Paul Carty top-scored with 46 (including six fours), followed by Scott Knights (21), Tim Wright (17no) and Nathan Munday (16no.

Best bowlers for Coachman were Rod Kiley (2-34 off 7.4 overs) and Keiran Deland (1-15 off six overs).

In the other A Grade game, Cambridge won by six wickets after Railway won the toss and batted.

Best batters in Railway’s 9-155 were Paul Dunford (72), Michael Ehsman (17), Myles Smith (12) and Ben Hawken (12).

Best bowlers for Cambridge were Clinton Hawke (3-20 off 9.2 overs), Mat Hetherington (3-40 off seven overs), Anthony Heraghty (2-39 off nine overs) and Cameron Rosser (1-23 off six overs).

In reply, Cambridge reached 158 with the loss of four wickets. Top-scorers were Martin Crowe (57, including six fours and two sixes), John Albert (39) and Anthony Heraghty (12, made up of three fours).

Best bowlers for Railway were Phil Dunford (3-31 off 12 overs, including three maidens) and Blake Smith (1-47 off six overs, including one maiden).
