Following are details of last week’s squash:
A grade - round 10
Peebles 26 - Mat Swindles 24; Alex Poons 29 - Luke Swindles 21; Eddie Poons 31 - Rosewarns 19; Ross’ 29 - McClearys 21.
There are four more rounds to play and there is a neck and neck struggle to claim the first four spots to make the semis on July 15.
Peebles and Rosses hold the joint lead on 264, four ahead of Alex Poons on 260, with McClearys down to fourth on 254.
Luke Swindle’s team sits on the fringe of the top four, on 250 and could put in a big challenge over the next four weeks.
It’s certainly the “sub season” in both A and B grade over the past few weeks.
A grade needed to bring in three last week to cover for absent players.
Rosewarns were left with just two of their original five, but still managed to scramble 19 points on the night.
Shane Barby was the lone winner for the team, beating Graham Hitchick 3/1.
Maggie Thompson, a late fill in for Jo Patterson (and playing her first comp game for several months) managed to take a game of Shona Taggart.
All four games were close - 15/11, 17/14, 12/15, 15/13.
Kerrie Edwards (Rosewarns line 5) lost in three to Les Watts.
The other two matches for the team were both subs.
Phil Cole despite trying all his noted court tricks and sliding retrievals couldn’t out gun the quiet achiever Eddie Poon.
Eddie won with a 17/14 result in the fifth game.
Jacob Cowling brought the team points to a big 31 for the night with a 3/1 defeat of Shane Barby who’d subbed up to the two line for Leanne Peebles.
Zoe Cloethier has rejoined comp squash after a little break, taking the line two spot in Alex Poons team, replacing the injured Neil Macaulay.
In her first game, she played top of the line, Craig Macaulay, a good ‘welcome back’ match.
The first game she lost a close 16/17 to Craig, but not back to full fitness levels, found the next two games a little harder, losing 8/15, 12/15.
She’ll peak about semi time, Poons looking to be semi contenders.
Result of the week must go to Laurie Magill, close to a 30 year age gap - the senior/veteran member out ran, outplayed out gunned the youth of Luke Williams - 15/10, 15/13, 15/11.

B grade
McDermotts 26 - Iveys 24; Bowds 28 - Popes 22; Porters 28 - Lees 22; Turnbulls 28 - Jones 22.
Due to absences last week there were 10 subs needed, with Toby Tanks being one of those.
He played two matches on the night, accumulating 10 games, winning both matches.
Toby played Joel Cowling first, coming away with a marathon, hard fought victory.
Joel and Toby both played well, with the scores exceedingly close, 13-15, 16-17, 15-11, 15-12, 165-10.
Toby then subbed up to take on captain, John Ivey.
John scored the first two games easily 15-4, 15-6 with Toby striking back in the third 15-6 snatching a close 17-16 in the fourth and only just beating John across the line in the fifth 15-12.
Grant Reynolds also performed well, only just losing his own match to Katie Hazelton 2-3 then subbing up to take on Kris Speakman.
This was also a tight five setter, eventually going Kris’ way, 15-11, 14-15, 15-7, 8-15, 15-11.
Jo Burke improved on her round one result against Nick Joyce.
Last round Nick won 3-0 - this time Jo had other ideas.
Nick did win the first two games 15-10, 17-15. Jo fought back to take the next two, 15-8, 15-13 setting up the decider which Nick powered on to win 15-7.
Jake Porter subbed in for an injured Mel Jones to give Mark Turnbull a great run.
Jake took the first and third games 15-13, 15-13, Mark the second and fourth, 15-11, 15-10.
Mark wore down in the final decider, losing 6-15.
Jeff Page and Kris Nock also played a tough five setter.
Kris relinquished a 2-1 lead to let Jeff back in the fourth and he continued on to win the fifth, 13-15, 15-8, 11-15, 15-10, 15-9.
