12s STATE TEAMS EVENT
This weekend will see the TennisNSW 12 and under state teams championships at Bathurst.
Parkes will have two representatives in the Central West girl’s team of four players in Emily Thomson and Yasmin Potts.
Both these girls have been working extremely hard in their training and squad work and they will have a great two days of singles and doubles under team manager Helen Magill.
Emily is the daughter of Jeromie and Renee Thomson while Yasmin is the daughter of David and Diane Potts.
LITHGOW MJDS
James Ward has been busy with rep cricket duties and finally found a free Sunday to compete in his first Medibank Junior Development Series for the year at Lithgow last weekend.
James was the only Parkes player to make the journey and came away very pleased with himself by taking out the 12 and under boys division in convincing style.
FORBES HOLIDAY
TOURNAMENT
Forbes is staging a round robin tournament on the weekend of April 21 and 22.
It will be singles on the Saturday and doubles and mixed doubles on the Sunday.
Helen has stapled entry forms to some newsletters of those players she thinks would be interested but there are more available on the notice board in the clubhouse.
CHS TENNIS
Parkes proved supreme in the opening round of the High School knockout competition when they smashed Cowra High school last week in both the boys and girls sections.
The boys were devastating. Alex Evans had his serve at a cracking pace while brother Luke played his usual calculating self.
Brent Tucker showed his all round skill while James Beuzeville finally looked like a determined competitor and disposed of his opponent.
The boys won all eight sets only dropping a handful of games.
The girls team of Cassie Magill, Bec Kiley, Maddye Potts and Emily Swindle all showed their skill at different times during the day.
They were happy with their singles performances winning all four matches while a little work will be needed on their doubles after they dropped two of those sets. The final score was six sets to two in Parkes favour.
The team along with reserves Brenden Weekes, Quinn Green and Erin Cheney had a most enjoyable day and now they will travel to West Wyalong early next term to take on the strong WW High side hoping to score a win and advance to the third round.
MLC HOT SHOTS
This Friday and Saturday will see the final week of Hot Shots for Term 1.
Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed the new program including players and coaches and look forward to continuing Hot Shots in Term 2.
