Magpies and Redbacks have the chance to get the Premier League hockey season on track when the two Parkes men’s team play a double header at home tomorrow.
Both teams are out of the top five with Redbacks on the bottom of the ladder after the first full round of matches and are still yet to record a win.
However, there is plenty of ability in the Redbacks team and some close results could easily have gone their way.
St Pats are a team they have often enjoyed success against, particularly at home, and the young Redbacks team will be pressing hard for a win.
Players like Matt Melhuish, Mat Swindle, Peter Francis and Steve Redfern can have a big impact on this match and hopefully spur Redbacks to their first win of the year.
MEANWHILE, Magpies host Dubbo in a match they will be expecting to win.
However, Dubbo are a much improved team in 2009 and will fancy their chances of upsetting the black-and-whites.
Ben Hawken, Glenn Johnstone and Jack Elliott will lead the way for Magpies who need a win to rescue their campaign.
Magpies have only recorded two wins and two draws this season to be sitting in sixth spot on the ladder.
A string of wins would get Magpies back in the finals mix but they need to play to their full potential.
Tigers women’s Premier League side have the bye this weekend after a general bye last week.
