Col defeats Graham to win Senior Singles title

22 Feb, 2012 08:24 AM
DISTRICT, SENIOR and PRESIDENT’S SINGLES

These three events started this weekend.

The District and Seniors at the Railway Bowling Club, and the President’s Singles at the Condobolin Sports Club.

Firstly the Senior Singles.

This event was finalised on Sunday, with the final being an all PBSC event.

In a very entertaining match, Col Hayward beat Graham Barby 31/21 to take out the 2012 title.

In the President’s Singles, we had two players in the semis.

Unfortunately, Terry Hetherington lost his match but Gary McPhee won his.

This mean that this Sunday at Condo Gary will play Roger Hadrill from Condobolin for the title of President’s Singles champion. Best of luck Gary.

In the District Singles played at the Railway Diggers Bowling Club, some very close and exciting games were played and watched by a very excited crowd of spectators.

The semi finals came down to three Parkes Club bowlers and one from Forbes.

Bruce Williams from Forbes was up against Eddie McPhee from Parkes, and Mick Went up against the very formidable Baldy Frame.

Firstly, Bruce and Eddie kept the crowd on their toes, but Bruce was too consistent and ended up winning 31/19.

In the other game, Mick and Baldy went head to head and it was anyone's game up to the final bell.

But Baldy was on his game and won 31/26.

So, this Saturday at the Railway Bowling Club from 1pm, Bruce Williams will play Baldy Frame for the title of District Singles champion.

We wish the very best to our two champions in their games.
