The Northern Sydney Youth Orchestra will be touring the Central West of NSW for a week from 11 July.
Commencing in Cowra they will travel to Grenfell, Wagga Wagga, Temora, West Wyalong, Lake Cargelligo, Condobolin and their final performance will be in Parkes on Saturday night 18th July at the Services Club.
This symphony orchestra is comprised of dozens of talented young people, mainly from the northern parts of Sydney where they rehearse at Beecroft although some members are from various other parts of Sydney.
Formed in 1983 the NSYO consists of four orchestral groups with a String Orchestra, String Sinfonia, Wind Ensemble where all groups come together for the Symphony Orchestra.
Two years ago the NSYO traveled to Vienna to participate in the International Youth and Music Festival with great success.
This tour is being arranged by Rotary Clubs in each of the towns on their itinerary and Rotary projects will be the beneficiaries of the proceeds.
The orchestra is travelling at their own expense so every dollar taken at the door will stay in the district.
Parkes Rotary Club will be donating the proceeds appropriately to the Parkes Town Band.
This is bound to be a very popular attraction so tickets should be purchased early to avoid disappointment.
They will be available at Byrne’s Menswear, Parkes Services Club and if not booked out they will be available at the door on the night.
