Twenty years ago, when the voices of rural women were heard at a conference in Parkes that instigated the annual NSW Rural Women’s Gatherings, the attendees then would never have imagined how communication channels would change.
The Parkes Rural Gathering Committee had to make a decision – embrace social media outlets, or miss out on reaching a new, younger and social media savvy audience.
So, to put a toe in the social media waters, a blog was created.
With the skills of Library Manger, Shellie Buckle, the blog is up and running with lots of information about the Parkes Gathering.
