Up to 124mm of rain in the Bogan Gate area led to flooding and road blockages on Friday.
A Lexus carrying a man and woman was stranded on the Trundle Road, north of Bogan Gate, when the driver attempted to cross a flooded causeway about 3.40pm.
Water at one stage got up to one metre high and the car was winched to safety by a police four-wheel-drive.
Neither of the occupants were injured and police are stressing that drivers have to be more careful during periods of high rainfall.
Farmers are rejoicing after therain, with many dams now full.
Bogan Gate farmer Don McKeowen got 124mm of rain on his property which has filled up his 16 dams on his 1600 acres which he uses for cropping and prime-lamb production.
One dam, near his house, was filled for the first time in nearly 10 years.
“The first 50mm probably soaked in and the rest probably ran off,” Mr McKeowen said.
“It will really help the sub-soil moisture and come in handy for the grazing crops which I should be sowing next month and the crops I’ll sow in April/May.”
