Parkes has a strong presence among the finalists in the 2009 NSW Tourism Awards.
The CountryLink Parkes Elvis Festival, the Dish Cafe and Ootha's Utes in the Paddock have all been named.
Minister for Tourism Jodi McKay this week announced the finalists.
“The NSW Tourism Awards - to be announced in November - are the state’s most prestigious tourism accolade,” Ms McKay said.
“I congratulate each finalist on their nomination and thank them for their continued contribution to tourism in NSW.’
Ms McKay said that the NSW Tourism Awards are about recognising the importance of tourism to the state’s economy and rewarding the tourism operators who have helped to enhance the state’s reputation as a destination, both domestically and internationally.
The Elvis Festsival won the award for the first time last year.
