 Red Cross still calling

Red Cross still calling

10 Mar, 2010 08:17 AM
The theme for Red Cross Calling this year is the “Power of Humanity”.

During the appeal we have our collection bucket and people drop in a handful of small change and on Saturday morning it amounted to $150.

Of course if you can give more it will be gratefully accepted and a receipt given and amounts of $2 and over are tax deductible.

We hope when you are in town you will call and give your donation or post it to Red Cross Parkes, PO Box 1022, Parkes 2870 and a receipt will be issued.

The Red Cross Centre in Church Street will be open every day this week to Saturday 13 March midday and a collection table on the corner near the Camera House to receive your donations.

You are invited all this week to free, tea, coffee or cool drink with a biscuit or slice if you call at the Centre.

Some of the schools are having Mufti Days and in this way it means a large area of the town is covered as the children bring in their $1 or $2 and it all mounts up.

A Certificate of Appreciation will be given to the schools and any organisation who donate.

Lesley Kelly from the High School was hoping to have some students collecting in the main street last Saturday but they didn’t make it.

Perhaps they will help this week and they will be clearly identified as Red Cross Collectors.

The appeal will be open all of March and the Red Cross Centre will be open every Friday for afternoon tea for only $4.

For further information you can contact me, Red Cross Publicity Officer, Gloria Dietrich on 6862 1945 or see me at the Centre this week.
