Parkes’ below average monthly rainfall trend continued in October for the fourth consecutive period since the more than double monthly figure of 104.4mm recorded in June.
Last month a total of 29.8mm was recorded – almost 20mm below the 49.0mm average.
Rainfall registered on a total of 12 days with the heaviest fall occurring to 9am Monday 26, when 8.8mm was recorded.
October’s below average figure followed the trend in September in which 23mm was the official figure (monthly average 39mm), August 11.4mm (49mm average), July 23.3mm (47mm average).
So far for the 10 months of the year Parkes official rainfall figure totals 377.8mm – almost 100mm below the 471mm average.
