Members of Parkes Men’s Shed Inc will undertake a clean-up programme around the perimeter fence of Parkes showground in support of Clean-Up Australia Day.
The Men’s Shed clean up will be held on Wednesday 27 February. Meeting time is 9am at the shed for directions and registration.
Please come along, no matter what your limitations. A cuppa will be available (after the work is done).
The Men’s Shed has been allocated Friday, 13 June, to hold a street stall to raise funds for future development.
It is appropriate that Men’s Health Week is from 9 to 13 June.
One of the aims of Parkes Men’s Shed Inc is to highlight the problems some men experience and to assist where appropriate.
The increasing membership and development of ‘The Shed’ on the showground is proving exciting for those attending on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
Donations from Parkes community of furniture, tools, fixtures, chairs, TV’s computers, timber work benches, kitchen utensils, feed the enthusiasm of a very diversified group of blokes.
Due to the increased numbers, chairs currently are in urgent need, contact Bernie Crowe 68623221.
An important activity coming up is an information night on men’s health. It is in the planning stage and secretary Malcolm Stacey and local health professionals are formulating the evening at Parkes Bowling Club on a date to be advised.
It is all ‘go’ at the Men’s Shed so call in to see what it’s all about. Contact Ian Draper (6863 1131) or Bernie Crowe (6862 3221).
