Mary Mackillop Cross in Parkes

08 Sep, 2010 09:42 AM
Last Friday, September 3, the Mary MacKillop Cross arrived in Parkes, from Broken Hill, and it was placed in the Holy Family Catholic Church where Mass was held at 10am.

A large congregation of Parkes Holy Family School students, teachers, parents, parishioners and visitors witnessed the arrival of the Cross, its blessing by Father John Keeble and the veneration of the cross as it was carried around the Church by members of the Parkes Branch of the Knights of the Southern Cross.

After the Mass the MacKillop Cross travelled on to Eugowra and Forbes.

Continuing on its Pilgrimage, the MacKillop Cross will travel north through NSW on its way to Queensland where its journey will include a visit to Gunnedah for the Annual Knights of the Southern Cross State Conference on September 17-18.
