“This is an exciting new direction for our organisation,” manager Ann Hunter said.
“We are providing a cost effective secure waste solution to individuals and businesses needing to destroy documents they are no longer required to keep, while offering meaningful work opportunities to people with disabilities living in Parkes”.
Project Supervisor, Jodie Turner said we are happy to destroy old bank statements, cheque books, private information, work documents and even old CDs. Jodie is keen to organise a time to meet with local businesses to explain how Currajong may be able to provide a solution for your document destruction needs.
“We will deliver 120L lockable bins to local Parkes businesses for a special introductory price of $25 per bin,” Jodie said.
“Included in this cost is collection of the full bin and secure destruction of documents.
“We also welcome business from householders and individuals.
“From a small shopping bag to an archive box of documents simply drop your package to us at 30 Welcome Street, Parkes (opposite Cooke Park) for a small pre-paid fee of $10 per bag or box,” Jodie said.
The innovative Secure Document Shredding Project will be operating under Currajong Disability Services, Transition To Work Program for young adults.
Meaningful work experience opportunities will be available to adults with disability who may need additional support to learn or develop new work skills under the guidance of our skilled employees.
The project initially received start-up funding as a result of a successful application to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) under the Seeds of Renewal Grants Program sponsored by the ANZ bank.

Currajong Disability Services is calling on businesses and individuals to get behind this exciting project which will support people with disabilities develop new skills and actively engage with the wider community.
