 Hats off to tourism girls

Hats off to tourism girls

23 May, 2011 10:21 AM
The Parkes Picnic Races may only be a few weeks off, but staff at the Henry Parkes Centre (HPC) celebrated not only last Friday’s release of the special Parkes June Long Weekend booklet, but also donned their millinery for Hat Day in aid of mental health research.

Rotary has made mental health a major

project this year where it is predicted that come 2020, depression will be the main cause of disability.

Australian Rotary Health is possibly the biggest provider of funding for mental health research outside of governments.

This Rotary year, 140 applications were

received by Australian Rotary Health for

funding where only 12 new grants could be made.

It’s not too late to make a donation to the Hat Day appeal here in Parkes.

Call into the Henry Parkes Centre and talk to the staff who will gladly accept your donation which is tax deductible.
