The NSW Government is to hold its next Regional Cabinet meeting in Parkes giving locals an opportunity to have their say on the things that matter.
Member for Dubbo Dawn Fardell said the Cabinet meeting would be held in Parkes on July 29 2008.
“When the Premier was in Dubbo earlier this year I asked him to bring the Cabinet here because there were a number of local issues the community has asked me to raise on its behalf,” Ms Fardell said.
“Local community groups and individuals will have a chance to raise issues directly with Government Ministers.
“While the meeting will be held in Parkes, Ministers will be attending a series of events and meetings across the Dubbo electorate region over a period of a week.
“Premier Iemma and his Ministers will be available to discuss issues that are important to local groups and families.”
Mrs Fardell said she looked forward to the Premier visiting the region again.
“I think this demonstrates how valuable he thinks the Dubbo and Parkes area is to the State,” Mrs Fardell said.
“I certainly make that point every chance I get, and now the entire Cabinet will have the chance to see it for themselves first hand.
“It is an opportunity for locals to have their say, and I encourage anyone who has an issue to discuss to request a meeting.”
