Carriages off rail track

22 Feb, 2012 07:57 AM
A minor de-railment occurred at the Parkes Mugincoble terminal on Monday, with six carriages leaving the railway track.

Workers on the scene yesterday were not able to talk about the incident, and officials too were reluctant to release any details.

From observation, it is understood the carriages were laden with wheat and only went off the track a short distance.

Three carriages were quickly put back on the track, while others had to be lifted back on by crane.

Two cranes were expected late yesterday afternoon to lift one of the carriages while repairs to the track could be carried out.
