A new addition to the 2009 CountryLink Parkes Elvis Festival is the ClubsNSW Elvis Poet's Breakfast.

It will be held on 8 January, 2009, at the Parkes Bowling and Sports Club at 7am and will be hosted by Graeme Johnson 'The Rhymer from Ryde'.

The Rhymer from Ryde has a broad poetry background receiving more than 70 awards over the past 10 years for his Bush Poetry, Free verse, Limericks and Yarn-spinning.

He has appeared at many festivals across the country including the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Entries are being accepted now for the poetry competition so if you've got a flair for poetry why not put your pen to paper and start writing some Elvis inspired poems?

Prizes are available for first and second prize. Visit www.parkeselvisfestival.com.au for conditions and an entry form or call 6863 4349. Entries close 31 December.

The format of the breakfast will include poetry performances from all entrants, entertainment from Graeme Johnson and a walk up session whilst breakfast is served.

Enjoy light-hearted poetry and an American style breakfast and come along for some fun.

It is sure to be a great morning, designed to draw to a close at around 9am, with plenty of time to get to work.

Tickets are $25 each and are available from the Parkes Visitor Information Centre which includes all entertainment, breakfast and tea and coffee.
